Jessie was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Solomon, and two sons, Jessie Solomon Jr. and Johnny Solomon.
He leaves to cherish his memories: one son, Leroy Solomon of Columbia; three daughters, Shirley Andrews (Bobby) and Sara Ann Andrews, both of Baltimore, Maryland, and Mary Major (Timothy) of Rembert; 27 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, 2:30 p.m. from the Green Bay Missionary Baptist Church, 60 Green Bay Baptist Church Road, Lynchburg, with Pastor Travis L. Laws, eulogist.
The family will receive relatives and friends Friday, Feb. 9, 5 to 6 p. m., in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home Inc., 821 North Main St., Sumter.
The remains will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. for viewing until time of service.
The funeral procession will leave at 2 p.m. from the home, 2919 Lynchburg Highway, Lynchburg.
Burial will be in the Sanders Cemetery, Lynchburg.
These services have been entrusted to the management and staff of Williams Funeral Home Inc., 821 North Main St., Sumter.
