John Charles Colclough Sr., better known as "Hobby," departed this life on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018 at Palmetto Tuomey Hospital, Sumter. He was born in Sumter County on Dec. 12, 1958, son of the late Deacon Johnston Clarence and Pastor Delia L. Williams Colclough. He was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. In his youth, he was baptized under the leadership of Elder James W. Mickens. He was employed at Santee Print for 18 years and Luther brick Masonry for 12 years until his health failed.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving wife, Priscilla, of 35 years of marriage; his children, Catheleen White, Lashawn Seigler, Latoya (Carldrelle) Cooper, John Colclough Jr. and Jessica(Josh) Fraiser, all of Sumter, Martha Berry of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Andre (Sheraunda) Wilson of Richmond, Virginia; 17 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a mother-in-law, Louise Williams; one brother, Herbert Colclough; two sisters, Clara (Dennis) Wilson and Annie Mae (Willie) Washington; a brother-in-law, Willie (Barbara) Williams; and a host of other relatives an friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Sammie Jessie Gayle and Lee Earl Colclough, a father-in-law, Willie B. Williams Sr.; and a grandson Aaron Lewis.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, Jan. 22, 2018 at 2 p.m. from the Church of God By Faith, with District Elder Robert Garrett officiating assisted by Rev. Frank Garrett. Interment will follow in the Heavenly Gates Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the chapel of Sumter Funeral Service Inc. on Sunday evening at 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sumter Funeral Service Inc., is charge of arrangements.
