Born on April 11, 1949, in Brooklyn, New York, he was a son of Arthur M. and Martha Williams. He received his education in the public schools of New York and was employed with the City of New York.
He leaves to cherish his memories: five children; five stepchildren; two brothers, Frank Ellerba and Jeffrey Williams; two sisters, Lillie Williams and Patricia Nathan; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 3290 S.C. 261 North, Rembert.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel, Williams Funeral Home Inc., 821 N. Main St., Sumter, with the Rev. Berdell Hill, eulogist.
The procession will leave at 1:20 p.m. from the home.
Burial will be at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Churchyard cemetery, 7355 Camden Highway, Rembert.
