Sumter will begin its best-of-3 first-round series against Marlboro at 7 p.m. The second game is scheduled for Wednesday in Bennettsville with a third game, if needed, back at Riley on Thursday.
The Junior P-15's go into the series with Marlboro with a 15-2-1 overall record. They went 13-1 in winning League IV.
Marlboro finished fourth in League III. It was 5-6 overall and 2-5 in league play.
The winner between Sumter and Marlboro will take on the winner of the first-round series between Camden and Darlington next week.
Camden finished third in League IV with a record of 9-5 both overall and in league play. Darlington was second in League III, going 12-3 overall and 6-2 in league play
The Junior P-15's would have the home-field advantage in that series as well.
The Sumter P-15's Senior team began play in its best-of-5 first-round series against Hartsville on Monday at Riley Park. The second game is scheduled for today at 7 p.m. at Jimmy White Park in Kelleytown. Game 3 will be played on Wednesday in Sumter. If a fourth game is needed, it will be played on Thursday in Kelleytown, while a fifth game will be back at Riley if necessary.
The winner of the Sumter-Hartsville series will take on the winner of the first-round series between Camden and Lexington. Whoever wins that series will be the Midlands Region winner and will earn a spot in the 4-team state tournament.
The two Coastal Region series will see League II runner-up Horry taking on League I champion Goose Creek and League I runner-up Hampton facing League II winner and defending state champion Florence.
The Piedmont Region has League VI No. 2 Spartanburg meeting League V champion Fort Mill and League V runner-up Rock Hill facing League VI champion Gaffney.
The Upstate Region has League VIII No. 2 Greenwood taking on League VII winner Greenville, and League VII No. 2 Anderson going up against League VIII champ Chapin/Newberry.
