LAURELLE SINGLETARY HARTIN

Laurelle Singletary Hartin, 91, widow of Edward Williams Hartin Jr., died on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at her home.

Born on March 23, 1929, in Wedgefield, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Willis Singletary and Clara May Player Singletary. Mrs. Hartin was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. After 23 years of service, she retired from Sumter School District 17, where she served as a secretary at Wilder Elementary and Crosswell Drive Elementary.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna Windham and her husband, Mike, of Sumter and Honey Truesdale and her husband, Harold, of Manning; four grandchildren, Christy Hall, Stacie Windham, Jay Truesdale and Nancy Hernandez; and one great-grandson, Riley Hall.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Willis LeRoy Singletary and Livingston Andrew Singletary; and one sister, Lucille S. Andrews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with the Rev. Joseph R. James Jr. officiating.

The family will receive friends at the home, 718 Reynolds Road.

The family would like to express their appreciation to caregivers Joann Walker and Von Anderson for the compassionate and loving care they provided.
