Crestwood stays unbeaten in region play

LUGOFF – Destinee Jamison and Jah’Che Whitfield combined for 41 points to lead Crestwood High School’s varsity girls basketball team to a 66-19 victory over Lugoff-Elgin on Tuesday at the L-E gymnasium.

Whitfield had a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Lady Knights, who improved to 15-2 on the season and 5-0 in Region VI-4A. She also had three steals. Jamison had 21 points and five steals.

Monijah Lewis added 10 points and Sedajah Rembert had eight points, five rebounds and four steals.

Conway 48

Sumter 41

CONWAY – Sumter High School dropped its second straight game, falling to Conway 48-41 on Tuesday at the CHS gymnasium.

Nina Edlow led the Lady Gamecocks, who are 11-5 overall and 3-2 in Region VI-5A, with 20 points. Carnasia Wells and Layken Cox both had six.

DALZELL - Wilson Hall improved to 14-1 on the season with a 27-20 victory over Thomas Sumter Academy on Tuesday at Edens Gymnasium.

Gracyn Coker led the Lady Barons with 12 points. Abbie Beatson and Becca Cromer both had eight points.

Lee Central 21

Chesterfield 14

BISHOPVILLE - Lee Central defeated Chesterfield 21-14 on Monday at the LCHS gymnasium.

Jada Rogers and Nicah Johnson both had six points to lead the Lady Stallions.

MS BASKETBALL

Chestnut Oaks 46

Manning 14

Chestnut Oaks improved to 13-0 on the season with a 46-14 victory over Manning Junior High School on Monday at the COMS gymnasium.

Antiyona Roach led the Lady Falcons with 18 points. Quanayzha Pearson followed with 11 and Avianna Johnson had seven.

Bates 39

Mayewood 17

Alyssa Johnson scored 10 points to lead Bates to a 39-17 victory over Mayewood on Monday at the BMS gymnasium.

Alicia Spann added eight points for the Lady Bantams, while Kemarii Stephens had seven and Mikia Harvin six.
