Lee Central finishes undefeated season with win over Scott's Branch

BISHOPVILLE - The Lee Central Middle School boys basketball team completed an undefeated season on Saturday with a 46-42 victory over Scott's Branch in the Upper Pee Dee Conference championship game at the LC gymnasium.

Rylik Slater led the Stallions, who finished 15-0 on the season with 14 points. Samaki Hickmon added 12.

Lee Central head coach Damian Days was named conference coach of the year.

JV BASKETBALL

Wilson Hall 39

Florence Christian 36

MANNING - Miller Jones scored 18 points to lead Wilson Hall to a 39-36 victory over Florence Christian School in a semifinal game of the SCISA Region II-3A tournament at Bubba Davis Gymnasium.

Evan Hoffman added seven points for the Barons, who will face Orangeburg Prep in the championship game on Tuesday at Sumter County Civic Center beginning at 5 p.m.

West Florence 47

Sumter 34

FLORENCE - Sumter High School lost to West Florence 47-34 on Thursday at the WF gymnasium.

O'Donnell Fortune led the Gamecocks in scoring with eight points. Jackson Hoshour had seven, while Tylee Craft and Marcus Lane both had six.

Laurence Manning 51

Wilson Hall 39

MANNING - Laurence Manning Academy defeated Wilson Hall 51-39 on Thursday at Bubba Davis Gymnasium.

AJ Nelson led LMA with 16 points. Austin Deppa had 12, Kyle Horton 11 and Trey Sharpe seven.

VARSITY BASKETBALL

Thomas Sumter 54

Robert E. Lee 38

DALZELL - Thomas Sumter Academy defeated Robert E. Lee Academy 54-38 on Friday at Edens Gymnasium.

Josh Fugate led the Generals, who are 12-9 overall and 8-2 in SCISA Region II-2A, with 12 points. Eli Kessinger added 11. Tyler Millwood and Zach Fugate both grabbed nine rebounds and Millwood also blocked five shots.

Bryce Barrett led REL with 13 points.
