Lennie Sheron Frazier, 66, widower of Rose Alice Frazier, departed his earthly life on Sept. 19, 2018, at the Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia.

Born on Jan. 20, 1952, he was a son of the late James and Idella Frazier. He was educated in the Sumter County School District. Mr. Frazier enlisted in the United States Army in 1969. After serving in the 9th Calvary Infantry Division and fighting for his country in the Vietnam War, he was honorably discharged in 1980. He was employed for several years as an air traffic controller for the Federal Aviation Administration in Charlotte, North Carolina. He then worked in security at McEntire Joint National Guard Base, before medically retiring in 2007. For many years, he was a faithful member of the Church of God of Prophecy of Charlotte and Sumter and served on many auxiliaries in ministry. He then became a member of St. John Baptist Church in Hopkins.

He leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters, Jessica Frazier and Courtney Frazier of Columbia; one son, Charles Frazier of Columbia; two grandsons, Jayden Stokes and Caren Bryson of Columbia; one granddaughter, Jaylah Stokes of Columbia; a goddaughter, LaCretia Robeas of Sumter; an adoptive son, Minister Roosevelt Barnwell Jr. of Columbia; two brothers, Andre (Glenda) Frazier of Pensacola, Florida, and Daryl Frazier of Afghanistan; three sisters, Marilyn Frazier and Katrina (Thomas) Boarden, both of Columbia, and Margaret Dunn of New York; three sisters-in-law, Catherine Logan, Daisy Gibson and Martha (George) Washington, all of Sumter; two brothers-in-law, Wilbur Montgomery of Sumter and William Bertha of Columbia; one stepbrother, Clifford (Barbara) Nurse of Atlanta; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, who will all miss his sense of humor, exotic cuisines and courageous spirit.

In addition to his beautiful wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Frazier-Bertha, and two brothers-in-law.

Public viewing will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Job's Mortuary.

Mr. Frazier will be placed in the church at 9 a.m. on Thursday for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. John Baptist Church, 230 Reverend Neal Circle, Hopkins, SC 29061 with Pastor Sammy L. Wade officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at 927 S. Main St., Sumter.
