Leonard Ray Wright, 72, husband of Brenda Glenn Wright, died on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.

Born Oct. 28, 1945, in McKinney, Texas, he was a son of the late Curley and Margaret Russell Wright.

Mr. Wright retired from the U.S. Army after 24 years of service and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

He also retired from the Department of Defense as a range control officer. He was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years; two sons, Ritchie Wright of Sumter, and Randy Wright of Harker Heights, Texas; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Charles Wright of Texas.

A memorial service with full military honors will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Florence National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the service.
