LILA HUGHES REED
Lila "Dolly" Hughes Reed, age 86, beloved wife of the late Raymond Reed, died on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018, at McLeod Regional Medical Center.
Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Lila Brown Hughes. Dolly loved the Lord and was known as a mother figure to all. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are two children, Rodney Lynn Reed of Manning and Melissa Renne` Reed of Sumter; two brothers, William Hughes and his wife, Dorothy, and Harold Hughes and his wife, Mildred; one sister, Patricia Conyers and her husband, Thomas, all of Sumter; three grandchildren, Joe Reed, Michael Reed and Raymond Reed; and four great-grandchildren, McKenzie Lyons, Austin Lyons, Dallas Reed and Elliott Reed.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael David Reed; and four brothers, J.G. Hughes, Bobby Hughes, Eddie Hughes and Terry Hughes.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Samuel Bonham and Pastor Phil Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at Concord Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Bullock Funeral Home.
