Man accused of sending obscene material to minor

Austin Alexander Nasworthy, 19, of Sumter, was arrested on Monday and charged with one count of disseminating obscene material to a person under age 18, according to a news release from S.C. Attorney General Alan Wilson. The felony offense is punishable by up to 10 years' imprisonment.

Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigators with the Lexington County Sheriff's Office made the arrest. According to investigators, Nasworthy sent a nude image to a minor victim.

The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.

Wilson stressed all defendants are presumed innocent unless they are proven guilty in a court of law.
