Manchester State Forest donates more than $260K to Sumter School District

James Douglas, left, forest director at Manchester State Forest in Wedgefield, presents Sumter School District's Board of Trustees' Chairman the Rev. Daryl McGhaney with a check for $260,156.91 on Monday night at the district office. The check represents a portion of the revenue earned last fiscal year by the state Forestry Commission on Manchester State Forest. By state law, a portion of the revenue earned by the commission is designated to support the county school district.
