Manning man arrested for pistol-whipping a person in Sumter County

A Manning man, 30, was arrested on Monday for allegedly pistol-whipping a person on Sunday, according to the Sumter County Sheriff's office.

Jamaad Alexander Dingle, of Depot Street in Manning, is charged with second degree assault and battery and pointing and presenting a firearm for allegedly striking the victim in the face with a .40-caliber Smith & Wesson pistol, causing a cut that required five stitches, while in the 1800 block of South U.S. 15 in Sumter County, according to the warrant.

A second warrant states Dingle unlawfully pointed the firearm at the victim during the same incident, says a release from the sheriff's office.
