Manning-Santee beats Lake City 9-6

MANNING -- The Manning-Santee Post 68 American Legion baseball senior team improved to 4-5 on the season with a 9-6 victory over Lake City on Thursday at Monarch Field.

Morgan Morris had two hits, four runs batted in and stole three bases to lead M-S. Braydon Osteen had two hits and two RBI.

Jake Jordan pitched the final 1 2/3 innings to get the victory. Dalton Page started and pitched 5 1/3 innings, giving up five runs.

Manning plays host to Orangeburg on Tuesday.

Sumter 12

Hampton 0

The Sumter Junior P-15's scored eight runs in the bottom of the fourth inning in a 12-0, 5-inning win over Hampton Post 108 on Friday at Riley Park.

Brennon Jones and Austin Trapp had two hits apiece to lead Sumter's 9-hit attack. Kieran Hagerty drove in three runs and Jones drove in two.

Trapp pitched a complete game to get the victory. He struck out three and allowed just one hit.

Diamond Pro Camp starts Monday

The Diamond Pro Instructional Baseball Camp will hold two sessions at Palmetto Park.

The first will be held June 11-14 and the second will be held June 18-21. The camp, which is open to children ages 7-10, will run from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. each day.

The fee is $60 for one session and $100 if attending both sessions.

A pre-registration will be held on Sunday at 5 p.m. at Palmetto Park.

Basketball camp starts Monday

A basketball camp for girls entering grades 5-8 will be held June 11-14 at the Manning First Baptist Church gymnasium.

The camp is free and will run from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. each day. Jack Gibson and Betsy Reynolds will run the camp.

Emphasis will be on passing, dribbling, shooting and defensive skills.

Pop Warner football registration June 16

Registration for the YAS Pop Warner Sumter Spartans Football & Cheer tackle program will be held on Saturday, June 16, at Brand University located at 4676 Broad Street.

The registration event will also consist of a car wash and fish fry fundraiser.
