MARILYN W. CAPEHART

Marilyn Yvonne Womack Capehart was born on March 10, 1946, in Manhattan, New York, to the late Melba Grace Womack and Odell Lennon. She departed this life on July 10, 2018, at her residence.

Ms. Capehart was educated in the public schools of Manhattan. She relocated to Bronx, New York, and furthered her education at Bronx Community College in the nursing program. Ms. Capehart retired from Carolinas Hospital System in Florence in 2016 after more than 30 years of service. She moved to Sumter to be close to her family. Ms. Capehart loved the Lord and loved to study her Bible. She enjoyed meeting new people and loved talking to them about the goodness of God.

Ms. Capehart was a dedicated member of Oakland Avenue, now Shekinah Glory SDA Church, in Florence, where she was a Sabbath School Superintendent, usher, treasurer, sang with the choir and always assisted in various departments. She transferred her membership to Florence First Seventh Day Adventist Church, until her untimely death. She loved attending Berea SDA Church with her family. She loved traveling, spending time with family and tending to her plants.

Ms. Capehart's memories will forever be in the hearts of her three children, Todd Patrick (Marilyn) Womack of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Melissia Robin (Lenwood) Dixon of Sumter and Monique Yvonne Allen of Jacksonville, Florida; one sister, Valeria Rodriguez of Fayetteville; a special brother-in-law, Aladino Rodriguez of Fayetteville; her grandchildren, Katelyn Dixon, Jarel McDowell, Lenard Dixon, Malec Mathis, Terique Foster, Maliyah Francis, Tyane Sparks, Tyree Womack and Patrick Womack; a loving grandniece and grandnephew, Amari Boyd and Elijah Harding; a devoted niece, Ronda (Anthony) Boyd; a nephew, Alec (Petrina) Harding; five great-grandchildren; along with other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Job's Mortuary.

The body will be placed in the church at noon on Sunday for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday at Berea Seventh Day Adventist Church, 675 S. Lafayette Drive, Sumter, with Pastor Michael Miller officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. at the home of her daughter, 219 S. Wise Drive, Sumter, SC 29150.

Job's Mortuary Inc., 312 S. Main St., Sumter, is in charge of arrangements.
