MARTHA MAE DUFFIE
Martha Mae Duffie, widow of Marvin Duffie Jr., was born on Oct. 25, 1947, in Sumter County, to the late Eliza Bell Davis and Amos Simon.
In addition to her husband and parents, Martha was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael Simon and Peter Simon.
Mrs. Martha Mae Duffie gained her heavenly wings on Friday, Nov. 30, 2018, in Florence.
Martha Mae leaves to cherish her precious memory: a son, Leslie (Doris) Dickerson; a daughter, Sheraunda Duffie; four sisters, Carolyn (James) Dawson, Yvonne (Rickey) Stuckey, Evelyn (Henry) McFadden and Juanita Simon; four brothers, Larry (Mary) Young, Larry (Martha Taylor) Simon, Steve (Teresa) Simon and James Lee (Robbie) Simon; five grandchildren, Dominque, Desmond, Marquis, Devonta and Jazmin; five great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Hattie C. Duffie; two brothers-in-law, Isaac (Willie Mae) and Billy (Carrie) Duffie; a special friend, Lee Ernest Young; a goddaughter, Hilda Scott; nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, 14 N. Brand St., Sumter, with the Rev. Larry W. Barnes, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Walker Cemetery.
A public viewing will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. today at the mortuary.
