Born on Sept. 12, 1966, in Manning, he was a son of Emanuel Hammett and the late Elouise Pearson Hammett.

Service of remembrance will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Manning Junior High School Gymnasium, 1101 W.L. Hamilton Road, Manning, where the Rev. Gary Miller, pastor of the Springfield Missionary Baptist Church, Eutawville, will preside. The Rev. Carnell Witherspoon, pastor of Mount Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Manning, will bring words of comfort. The service of committal will follow at the Hammett family plot, located at St. Matthews Cemetery.
The family is receiving relatives and friends at 525 Pioneer Drive, Sumter.
