Mayesville man, 43, charged with kidnapping, other charges, according to Sumter County Sheriff's Office

Jonathan Chadwick Geddings, 43, of Jessamyn Road in Mayesville, was arrested on Sunday for allegedly assaulting a woman and threatening to kill her if she left a residence on Jessamyn Road on Saturday.

According to a news release from Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, Geddings grabbed the victim by her hair and pulled her up the steps into the residence before he reportedly threw a cell phone at the victim, striking her in the stomach.

Geddings is also accused of throwing the victim onto a mattress, holding a pocket knife to her throat and punching her with a closed fist. He also reportedly put a BB gun to the woman's head and threatened to kill her.

The woman was able to leave the residence and notify law enforcement after Geddings fell asleep.

Geddings is charged with first degree domestic violence, kidnapping and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
