McLeod Health opens clinic in Sumter to treat work-related illnesses, injuries

McLeod Health has opened an on-site health clinic in McLeod Medical Park Sumter, 540 Physicians Lane.

McLeod Occupational Health Sumter is designed to manage and treat employees with injuries or work-related illnesses,

according to a news release.

"We are excited about the opening of the McLeod Occupational Health Sumter Clinic," Octavia Williams-Blake, vice president of workplace safety for McLeod Health, said in the release. "We are truly dedicated to providing the best health care options for local industries and their employees. We believe this clinic will prove beneficial to the well-being of this area's work force."

McLeod Occupational Health Sumter, which opened Monday, will provide companies with the following occupational health services: work-related injury/illness treatment, onsite X-ray and EKG services, DOT certified exams and physicals, comprehensive drug and alcohol testing programs, spirometry testing, firefighter physicals, flu shots and wellness programs including screenings and disease care management, flu shots, immunizations and vaccinations and pre-employment physicals. Workers compensation is also accepted.

Care will be provided by Vonny Clanton, family nurse practitioner. Clanton obtained her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati in Ohio and has experience in family practice, emergency department care, urgent care and trauma center care. Stuart Sandler will serve as the medical director.
