Born on Dec. 3, 1926, in Evergreen, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Dewey Havana Bowen and Anna Estelle Johnson Bowen. Millie was an avid golfer. She had a zest for life and a sense of humor to match. The highlight of her day was sitting on the front porch and socializing. No one was a stranger and always welcome to visit.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan N. Staszak of Fairfax, Virginia, and Jan M. Collinson of Austin, Texas; three grandchildren, Michael Staszak, Cassandra Kreiselmeier and Cory Collinson; five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Beverly Paoloni, Sue Ackerman, Irma Naples and Brenda Masouras; and her special nephew, Dewey Griggs.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Gary N. Rosner.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Phelps officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 2 to 3 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
