A missing Sumter County mother and her newborn baby have been found safe.
Deputies with the Sumter County Sheriff's Office said Kristen Blackmon, 35, returned home Saturday with her 10-day-old child. She had last been seen Thursday after leaving a local doctor's office with the baby.
Officers say Blackmon apparently left on her own and then decided to return and don't suspect foul play.
Initially, her live-in boyfriend reported her missing, according to reports. The boyfriend said Blackmon called him on Thursday after leaving the doctor's office, said the baby's check-up went fine, and that she would see him at home when he got off from work. Neither she nor the baby were seen until Saturday.
