Moses leads Lee Central past Chesterfield 41-21


CHESTERFIELD — Deondraye Moses rushed for 195 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead Lee Central High School to a 41-21 victory over Chesterfield on Friday at the CHS field.

Demetrius Dubose added 95 yards and two touchdowns for the Stallions, who improved to 5-1 overall and 1-1 in Region IV-2A.

Corey King led the defense with two interceptions, returning one for 75 yards for a touchdown. He also had six tackles.

Derrick Joye had a team high eight tackles, while DeAndre Oliver had five tackles and an interception.


SHS boys finish 5th
FLORENCE — Sumter High School's boys cross country team finished fifth out of 18 schools at Saturday's Pee Dee Classic in Florence.

Brandon Poston finished first overall to pace the Gamecocks.

FLORENCE – Wilson Hall was swept 3-0 by Florence Christian School on Thursday at the FCS gymnasium by scores of 25-21, 26-24, 25-20.

Chandler Curtis had 17 assists for the Lady Barons and Courtney Clark had 15 kills.

WH is now 10-10 overall on the year and 1-1 in region play with a match at Orangeburg Prep on Tuesday next up on the schedule.

Lugoff-Elgin 3

Lakewood 0

LUGOFF – Lakewood dropped a 3-0 region contest to Lugoff-Elgin on Thursday at the L-E gymnasium by scores of 25-6, 25-9, 25-9.

Taylor McPhail had three aces and three blocks for the Lady Gators while Kelsea Baker and Amiyah Pinckney each had one ace.

Lakewood hosts Hartsville on Tuesday.

Clarendon Hall 1

SUMMERTON – Clarendon Hall fell to Patrick Henry Academy on Thursday by a 3-1 margin at the CH gymnasium.

Game scores were 23-25, 25-20, 25-19, 25-15 in favor of PHA.

The Lady Saints were led by Sara James with 17 service points. Madison Kidd finished with 14 points and Ava English finished with 13.

CH is now 4-5 on the year and will travel to St. George on Tuesday to face Dorchester Academy.

SUMMERTON – Clarendon Hall picked up a 2-1 region victory over Patrick Henry Academy on Thursday at the CH gymnasium by scores of 22-25, 25-15 and 25-19.

The Lady Saints were led by Amberly Way with 14 service points and three aces. Hadleigh McIntosh added 13 points and Aubrey Edwards had 12 points.

Olivia Wilson and Whitney Avins had four aces each for Clarendon Hall, which improved to 9-0 and will travel to St. George on Tuesday to face Dorchester Academy.
