Sumter's annual National Anthem Day Project has been rescheduled to 7 p.m. Sept. 21 from its original date of Sept. 14.
Program coordinator and director Linda Beck of Sumter School District said the postponement is in response to threats from Hurricane Irma, which is likely to pass through the state early next week. The program will still be held at Patriot Hall, 135 Haynsworth St.
Rehearsal for the participants has also been rescheduled to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19. Students should enter at the stage door on Mood Avenue, and parents should use the front doors to Patriot Hall.
