No. 12 Tigers beat Notre Dame 5-1

CLEMSON -- Mat Clark pitched No. 12 Clemson to a 5-1 victory over Notre Dame at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Saturday.

Clark set career highs for innings pitched and strikeouts, both numbering seven. He improved to 4-0 on the season, allowing just three hits, no runs and no walks.

The Tigers upped their record to 14-4 overall and 4-1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, evening the series at 1-1. The Fighting Irish dropped to 7-10 overall and 3-2 in ACC play.

The Tigers scored four runs in the second inning, highlighted by Davis Sharpe's run-scoring single and Bryce Teodosio's run-scoring double. Clemson added a run in the fourth inning on Logan Davidson's 2-out double.

The series concludes today at 1 p.m.
