Palmetto Optimist Club will host its annual Battle Buddies children's obstacle course from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Sumter County Fairgrounds, 30 S. Artillery Drive.
Battle Buddies is a free event where children enjoy a day of fitness and fun while interacting with local first responder mentors as they go through a 16-obstacle course.
There will also be demonstrations from local dance, gymnastic and martial arts groups as well as music and games.
