Patrick Lee Richburg Sr., age 77, beloved husband of the late Sylvia Hatfield Richburg, died on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018, at his residence.

Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Charlton Leroy Richburg and Hallie E. Hodge Richburg. Pat retired from Black River Electric Coop. after more than 37 years of service. He loved hunting and fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. A lifelong Christian, Pat reaffirmed his faith and trust in God with the late Pastor Billy Brewer in the last few years. He will be remembered as a very loving father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Surviving are a son, Patrick Lee Richburg Jr. and his wife, Marty, of Sumter; three grandchildren, Morgan Richburg of Fort Mill, Palmer Richburg of Sumter and Jack Covington of Sumter; an adoptive son, Albert Barfield of Sumter; lifelong friend, Loretta Stokes of Sumter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, Pat was preceded in death by four brothers, Preston Richburg, Charlton L. Richburg Jr., Mack A. Richburg and Jackson H. Richburg; and six sisters, Doris H. Brunson, Violet R. Powers, Verlin D. Wingate, Gladys F. Avery, Sueeda L. Richburg and Patricia A. Richburg.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Rusty Wilson officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from noon to 1 p.m. at Bullock Funeral Home and other times at the home.
