Man facing multiple charges, including possession with intent to distribute cocaine

Javon L. Hylton, 26, of South Main Street, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with domestic violence first offense, unlawful carry of a pistol, possession of drug paraphernalia, simple possession of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute cocaine. According to an incident report from Sumter Police Department, Hylton allegedly choked his girlfriend during an argument while in the 700 block of South Main Street about 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Officers also found a loaded silver-and- black CM40 Kahr firearm, a grinder with trace amounts of marijuana inside and approximately 8.9 grams of cocaine on Hylton's person.

STOLEN PROPERTY

A silver .40-caliber Smith & Wesson firearm valued at $400 was reportedly stolen from the 300 block of Catie Street between 4 and 7 a.m. on Wednesday.

A brown 2008 Ford F150 valued at $20,000 was reportedly stolen while parked in the 1500 block of Old Manning Road between 7 and 9 a.m. on Wednesday.

Twenty pairs of men's sneakers valued at $350 total, a burgundy-and-gray suede jacket valued at $40, two pairs of women's Jordan sneakers valued at $75 each, a silver-and-black Roc-A-Wear pants suit valued at $60 and a pair of iHip Side Swipe Bluetooth headphones valued at $109 were reportedly stolen from a residence in the 400 block of Green Swamp Road between May 1 and May 16. According to an incident report from Sumter Police Department, approximately $150 in damage was caused to the residence when a bedroom window was broken.

A black 32-inch Element TV valued at $130, a black 50-inch Samsung TV valued at $200, two 7-inch RCA Voyage tablets valued at $40 each and a Compaq laptop valued at $200 were reportedly stolen from a residence in the 300 block of South Salem Avenue between 8:45 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Approximately $300 in damage was caused to the front door of the residence during the incident, according to an incident report from Sumter Police Department.
