A district spokesperson distributed the agenda for the board's regular monthly work session on Friday afternoon.
Interim Superintendent Debbie Hamm will provide a student achievement report and a staffing report, according to the agenda. When Hamm started with the district a year ago, the district began the school year with 52 certified classroom teacher vacancies. After significant recruitment efforts in the spring and summer of this year, the district began this school year on Monday with about half that vacancy total, according to district officials.
New Chief Financial Officer Jennifer Miller will present to the trustees the preliminary fiscal 2018 financial report. Earlier this month, she presented that report to the board's advisory Finance Committee, and it shows the district with a net income - or surplus - of about $7.8 million for the period from July 1, 2017, through June 30, 2018.
That projected net income would increase the district's fund balance to about $8.6 million as of June 30, 2018.
Like all board-related meetings, Monday's work session is open to the public. Public participation is not held at the board's work sessions, however.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. and will be held at the district office, 1345 Wilson Hall Road.
