Red Sox clinch AL East, top Astros 6-3

BOSTON - The Boston Red Sox clinched the AL East by beating Houston 6-3 Saturday, setting up an immediate rematch with the Astros in the playoffs.

The Red Sox ended a 2-game skid and won back-to-back AL East titles for the first time in franchise history.

NEW YORK - The New York Yankees wound up with an AL wild-card spot, beating Toronto 2-1 on Aaron Judge's 52nd home run shortly before Boston clinched the AL East crown.

MIAMI - Giancarlo Stanton went 2 for 4 with a single and a double and the Miami slugger remained at 59 home runs as the Marlins beat the Atlanta Braves 6-5 on Friday night.

Blaney wins Xfinity playoffs at Dover

DOVER, Del. - Ryan Blaney crashed the Xfinity Series playoffs and the Cup regular dominated Saturday to win the race at Dover International Speedway.

Xfinity playoff drivers took the second through six spots and nine of the top 11. Justin Allgaier was second, followed by William Byron, Daniel Hemric and Brennan Poole.

Americans 1 point away from Presidents Cup

JERSEY CITY, N.J. - The Americans came within one match of winning the Presidents Cup - on Saturday.

Anirban Lahiri and Si Woo Kim delivered the only victory for the International team and the Americans poured it on. They had a 14 1/2-3 1/2 lead, needing only one point today to retain the cup.

Phil Mickelson set a record with his 25th victory.
