RICHARD G. GAZLEY

DALZELL - Richard G. Gazley, 82, husband of Patricia Janet Gazley, died on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, he was a son of the late George Victor Gazley and Matilda Gunger Gazley. Mr. Gazley was retired from Grand Trunk Western Railroad in Michigan and was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of Dalzell; a son, Michael R. (Maria) Gazley of Dalzell; two daughters, Kelly Suzanne Dearing (Tom) of Goodrich, Michigan, and Bonnie Lynn Hickman (Joey) of Manning; two sisters, Joanne Woodin of Traverse City, Michigan, and Carol Hilley of Arizona; 12 grandchildren, Bradley, Sarah and Katie Dearing, Nick, Austin and Jasmine Gazley, Myranda Gazley, Justin, Nolan and Alex Saffer, and Breanne and Ashton Hickman; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Scott Victor Gazley, and a grandson, Tyler Gazley.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at Sumter Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Miller officiating.
