COLUMBIA — Robert Howard Ruffin, 70, husband of Linda McElveen Ruffin, died on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Palmetto Health Richland.

Born in Sikeston, Missouri, he was a son of the late Howard and Leola Huie Ruffin. Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during Vietnam. He was employed by U.S. Broach Co. for more than 40 years, where he worked as a toolmaker / machinist. His hobbies included woodworking, cooking, gardening, and he enjoyed the outdoors.

Surviving are his wife of the home; three sisters, Paula Ronald (Jim) of Sugar Land, Texas, Margaret Kelley (Bob) of Lexington and Saralyn Culp (Bill) of Sikeston; two brothers, Huie Ruffin (Pam) of Missouri and Steve Ruffin (Janet) of Dallas; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Charles Butler and his staff at S.C. Oncology & Associates for their care.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with the Rev. Edguardo Figgerara officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
