CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Robert Joseph "Bobby" Rodgers, 64, died on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019, at Atrium Health Pineville in Charlotte.

Born on Oct. 21, 1954, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Delgar Britton "Shorty" Rodgers and Ruby Jewel Rodgers. He was a lifelong member of Sumter First Church of God and attended Candelwyck Baptist Church in Charlotte since 2009. He was employed by Sonny's Restaurant in Charlotte.

Survivors include a son, Chris McDuffie (Veronica) of Columbia; two grandchildren, Suyan and Ana Gabriela; a brother, Windell Rodgers of Sumter; two sisters, Carolyn Martin and Sherrie Guzzi (Joe), all of Sumter; and a friend, Judy Baker.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Delgar Rodgers.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at Sumter First Church of God with the Rev. Ron Bower officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Sumter First Church of God.
