RUBY B. MORRIS

Ruby Boykin Morris, 97, widow of Algie C. Morris, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018, at a local nursing facility.

Born on July 19, 1920, in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late Willie Daniel Boykin and Mabel Mathis Boykin. She retired from Ventu-Lite Products Inc. and was a volunteer at Tuomey Hospital for 13 years. She was a charter member of Bethesda Church of God, where she served as a secretary of the Sunday school for a number of years, until her health declined.

Surviving are her children, Wayne Morris (Gertrude), Carolyn Green (Donald) and Johnny Morris (Patsy), all of Sumter; grandchildren, Tami Bitsky (Ken), Robert Morris (Vikki), Donna Geddings (Marty), J.R. Green (Donna), Michelle Lowder and Danny Morris (Sheri); great-grandchildren, Tara, Sarah, Robbie, Mandy, Rhiannon, Crystal and Wesley; and a great-great-grandchild, Madelyn.

She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Keith; and seven siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Al Sims officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Robert Morris, Robbie Morris, Danny Morris, Wesley Lowder, J.R. Green and Donnie Green.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at their respective homes.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 2401 Bethel Church Road, Sumter, SC 29154; Calvary Bible Church, 770 N. Wise Drive, Sumter, SC 29153; or Alice Drive Baptist Church, 1305 Loring Mill Road, Sumter, SC 29150.
