SAMUEL LEE REARDON

Samuel Lee "Shorty" Reardon was born on Dec. 4, 1948, in Clarendon County, a son of the late Harry and Estelle Reardon. He departed this life on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2019.

Samuel received Christ at an early age. He attended the public schools of Sumter County. Samuel was employed by Wise Construction, until he retired. Later, he became a self-employed painter. Samuel was joined in holy matrimony to Clara Gamble Reardon and from this union two children were born.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved wife, Clara G. Reardon; a son, Deriek (Sharon) Reardon of Anderson; a daughter, Sharon (Richard) Dozier-Allen of Lynchburg; five loving sisters, Maggie (McArthur) McFadden of Columbia, Reba (Runard) Nelson of Lynchburg, Odell (Donald) Wilson of Dalzell, Wilhelmenia (Allen) Conely of Brooklyn, New York, and Jacquelynette (John) Durant of Columbia; seven grandchildren, Richard Dozier, Jailyn Reardon, Richard Allen, Alexandria Allen, Aliyah Cribb, Jamicah Bradley and Lorenzo Harris; five great-grandchildren; two aunts; a special brother and sister-in-law, Treadway and Mary Ann Gamble; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.

Samuel was preceded in death by a brother, Simon Reardon.

Public viewing will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Job's Mortuary.

Mr. Reardon will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. on Friday for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday at Oak Grove AME Church, 1709 Burnt Branch Road, Lake City, SC 29560 with Pastor Oliver Davis Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at New McFadden Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the home, 8515 Fullard St., Lynchburg, SC 29080.
