GLENVILLE, North Carolina - Hannah Elizabeth Smith and William Foster Lander, both of Raleigh, North Carolina, were united in marriage at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Sawyer Family Farmstead.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. William Clay Smith of Sumter and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Floyd Watson, the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lawrence Prescott and the late Mr. Harold Wilson Smith. She graduated from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She is employed as a project manager by Baldwin&.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Chapin Lander of Atlanta, and the grandson of Mrs. Malise Foster of Cashiers, North Carolina, and the late Judge David Smith Foster, and Mrs. Patricia Lander of Atlanta and the late Mr. Coy Randolph Lander. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. He is employed as a content strategist by Trimark Digital.

The Rev. Jonathan Edwards officiated.

Music was provided by Karin Lyle, violinist, and Sarah Holley, guitarist.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless organza dress by Essense of Australia with a rouched bodice and sweetheart neckline, layered on the skirt and train with a handkerchief hem. She wore a floor-length tulle veil. She carried an organic, loosely gathered, hand-tied bouquet with a cascading silk ribbon, featuring fresh local flowers in the shades of ivory, blush, peach and maroon, with peonies, garden roses, antique roses, tea roses, ranunculus, scabiosa and Queen Anne's lace.

Sarah Smith, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Katy Coleman, Tara Gore, Kayla Hanson, Lucy Guttenberger, Kate McHugh and Katharine Batchelor.

Taylor Hall served as best man. Groomsmen were Abram Smith, brother of the bride; Rhodes Adair; Harrison Polk; Wesley Gross; Austin Sandler; and Ross Cooper.

The reception was given by the parents of the bride at Sawyer Family Farmstead.

The rehearsal party was given by the parents of the bridegroom at Cedar Creek Racquet Club.

Following a wedding trip to Mexico, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
