Mary Margaret Somheil of Sumter and Eric Allen Richey of Florence were united in marriage at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 22, 2017, at First Presbyterian Church in Sumter.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Lee Somheil Sr., and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Mack Cubbage Sr. and Mrs. Carolyn Earnhardt Somheil and the late Mr. Ralph Arnold Somheil, all of Sumter. She graduated from Clemson University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Language and International Health with an emphasis in Spanish and from Central Carolina Technical College in May 2017 with an Associate in Nursing. She is a registered nurse and will be seeking employment in Charleston.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Ray Richey of Florence, and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. William Edward Lippincott of Murrells Inlet and Mr. Vernon Ray Richey and the late Mrs. Mary Sue Richey of St. Joseph, Missouri. He graduated from Clemson University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. He is employed as a computer software analyst for Boeing in Charleston.
The Rev. Nicholas Theo Cheek of First Presbyterian Church in Sumter and Mr. James Gunderman of Atlanta, Georgia, officiated.
Music was provided by Chandler Martin, soloist; Jonathan Hopkins, trumpeter; and Mrs. Hamilton Stoddard, organist.
Escorted by her father, the bride chose an ivory fit-and-flare gown of silk dupioni featuring a tulle skirt and a sweetheart neckline which graduated to a gentle V in the back finished with covered buttons. She wore a matching veil and carried an all-white, hand-tied bouquet of peonies, garden roses, tulips and hydrangeas finished with pleated silk ribbon streamers.
Chandler Marie Martin served as maid of honor, with Mrs. Rebecca Marlowe Micklon as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Griffith McLeod Britton, Erica Katherine Joyner, Kathryn Ann Ligigitt, Catherine Smith Mac Lain, Brandi Quinn Patterson, Anna Kate Shuler Sherrill, Nancy Cameron Smith, McNair Rhodes Somheil and Charlotte Rutledge White. Piper Elissa Gunderman and Jubilee Eden Gunderman served as flower girls.
Mr. Andrew Biryukov Strock served as best man. Groomsmen were Preston Bruce Bankson, John Chandler Barber, Dean Christian Infinger, Jacob Scott Kozaki, Stefan Jerome Kozaki, Matthew Reed Pizzuti, Christopher Lee Somheil Jr. and Keith Samuel Richey. Connor McCarty Merchant served as ring bearer.
Mackenzie Louise Hyder and Riley Elizabeth Hyder were program attendants.
The bride's parents held the reception at Sunset Country Club.
The bridegroom's parents held the rehearsal dinner and party at Sunset Country Club.
Following a wedding trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, the couple will reside in Charleston.
