Stallions edge Central 14-12


PAGELAND — The Lee Central High School varsity football team defeated Central 14-12 on Friday at the CHS field to pick up a big Region IV-2A victory. 

The Stallions were led by Demetrius Dubose, who rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown. Naquan Peeples rushed for 60 yards and a touchdown and Corey King kicked two big extra points that turned out to be the difference in the game. 

The LCHS defense was led by Mykeil Cooper with 15 tackles. Shileake Albert added eight tackles while Travis Hickson and Deontae Lowery each recorded a sack. 

The Stallions are now 7-1 overall and 3-1 in region play and will host Cheraw next Friday.

Florence Christian 1

FLORENCE — Laurence Manning earned an 8-1 victory over Florence Christian School on Thursday in Florence.


1 — Mason Ham (LMA) defeated Thomson 6-4, 7-6.

2 — Wood (FCS) defeated Davis 6-4, 6-1.

3 — Tsukalas (LMA) defeated Aikens 7-5, 6-0.

4 — Rickenbaker (LMA) defeated Sawyer 6-1, 6-3.

5 — Burns (LMA) defeated Odom 7-5, 6-4.

6 — Mack (LMA) defeated Canavati 6-3, 6-2.


1 — Ham/ Davis (LMA) defeated Thomson/Canavati 8-4.

2 — Rickenbaker/Burns (LMA) defeated Aikens/Odom 8-2.

3 — Tsukalas/Johnson (LMA) defeated Wood/Brunson 8-1.


Clarendon Hall 3

St. John's Christian 1

SUMMERTON — Clarendon Hall picked up a 3-1 region victory over St. John's Christian on Thursday at the CH gymnasium.

The Lady Saints won by scores of 26-24, 16-25, 25-19, 25-23. 

CH was led by Ava English with 21 service points and seven aces. Mallory McIntosh had 19 points and four aces while Madison Kidd and Sara James had 17 points each.

Brynne Baxley finished with seven points for the Lady Saints, who are now 8-6 overall and 6-5 in region play and will travel to Holly Hill on Thursday.


Clarendon Hall 2

St. John's Christian 0

SUMMTERTON — Clarendon Hall kept its unbeaten streak alive with a 2-0 victory over St. John's Christian on Thursday at the CH gymnasium by scores of 25-19, 25-9.

The Lady Saints were led by Maliegh Cline with 11 service points. Whitney Avins and Hadliegh McIntosh each had nine points and Amberly Way and Aubrey Edwards added seven points each.

CH improved to 14-0 overall and 11-0 in region play and will travel to Holly Hill on Thursday.
