STELLA WEEKS GOODSON

Stella Weeks Goodson, widow of William "Billy" Goodson, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 30, 2021, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

Born on Nov. 17, 1933, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Ernest McCray Weeks Sr. and Iomey Sylvester Weeks, and stepdaughter of the late Helen Weeks. Mrs. Goodson was a graduate of Edmunds High School and Winthrop University. She was an avid pianist. She played for Aldersgate Church, where she was a founding member, as well as the Santee Summer Ministry and other venues.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Ernest M. Weeks Jr., and stepbrother, Glenn Coker.

She is survived by her sons, William "Max" Goodson (Anne) and Kirk Goodson (Danita); four grandchildren, Adam Goodson (Molly), Mary Elizabeth Morton (Robbie), Abby Wenzel (Ryan) and Hunter Goodson; and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister-in-law, Rae Weeks; two stepsisters, Gloria Coker and Rae McWhirter (Tom); and a number of nieces and nephews.

A private burial was held at Sumter Cemetery.
