Weather halts games in 9-10 tourney

None of the games on Wednesday in the in the 9-10 year-old AAA District 9 baseball tournament at Patriot Park SportPlex because of the thunderstorm that swept through Sumter.

Clarendon National was beating Harleyville in an elimination game when the game was stopped. Harleyville said it would not return to complete the game so Clarendon National advanced.

Lake Marion was leading Clarendon American 9-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning when the game was suspended. The game will be resumed today at 6 p.m.

The winners bracket game between Sumter American and Sumter National never started. It will be played today at 6 p.m.

Those are the only games for today. The schedule has been pushed back a day, meaning the championship round is now scheduled for Sunday.

The only matchup secured for Friday has Clarendon National facing St. George at 6 p.m. in an elimination game.

Game 4 - Lake Marion 9, Clarendon American 0, game suspended in bottom of fourth inning

Game 5 - Clarendon National defeats Harleyville by forfeit, Harleyville eliminated

Game 6 - Sumter National vs. Sumter American, ppd., rain

Game 4 - Lake Marion vs. Clarendon American, completion of suspended game, 6 p.m.

Game 6 - Sumter National vs. Sumter American, 6 p.m.

Friday

Game 7 - Game 4 Loser vs. Game 6 Loser, 7 p.m.
