Sumter County Council to consider final vote for special tax district


Sumter County Council will meet at 6 p.m. on Tuesday in County Council Chambers, third floor of Sumter County Administration Building, 13 E. Canal St., to consider third and final reading of an ordinance to create a special tax district where money will be collected to repair the dam at Boyles Pond, off South St. Paul's Church Road.

A public hearing will be held prior to council's vote.

In other news, council will hear a presentation by Chris McKinney, executive director of Santee-Lynches Regional Council of Governments, and consider passing a proclamation to name April as Fair Housing Month in the county.
