Sumter County Sheriff's Office charges Rembert man for March burglary

A 39-year-old Rembert man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly breaking into a house and attempting to harm two people inside in March.

A news release from Sumter County Sheriff’s Office states Leroy Mandreal McDaniel, of Stuckeytown Road in Rembert, is charged with first degree burglary after he allegedly kicked in the front door of a residence in the 4500 block of Excursion Drive in Dalzell about 10:30 p.m. on March 23.

Once inside, he reportedly attempted to harm the female resident and her male friend, according to the release.

McDaniel was transported to Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center where he remains, as of Monday evening.
