A Pinewood woman, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene of a single vehicle wreck on Bethel Church Road after her car struck a utility pole early Saturday morning.

Jessica Dubose, driving a 2000 Honda Civic, was traveling south on Bethel Church Road, near Cains Mill Road, when she lost control of the car and went of the left side of the road, according to Sumter County Coroner Robbie Baker and South Carolina Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Matt Southern.

Once off the road, the car overturned and hit a utility pole.

Dubose was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained fatal injuries during the crash, Southern said.

The wreck is still under investigation.
