A Sumter County man faces nine charges connected to the exploitation of a minor after investigators reportedly found him in possession of child pornography.

Don Whitney Eunice, 38, is accused of distributing and possessing files that were found by Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigators, according to a news release from South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson on Friday.

Eunice was arrested on Thursday and is charged with four counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor — a felony offense punishable by up to 10 years' imprisonment on each count — and five counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor — a felony offense with the same punishments possible, if convicted.

The case will be prosecuted by Wilson's office.
