Sumter teen found safe after not arriving home Sunday
Man was visiting relative nearby before he was reported missing
Christopher Alexander Benenhaley, 17, was expected to return to his Stuckey Street home on Sunday, July 1 after spending a week with a relative on Mason Croft Drive but never arrived, according to the Sumter Police Department.

Police said Monday evening via social media that a teenager who did not make it home after spending time with family in Sumter has been found and is safe with a family member.

In its Facebook post, the department said he is with a relative and thanked those who helped in the search for Benenhaley.
