CHARGES

Kailil Graham, 20, of Alice Drive, was arrested on Saturday and charged with third-degree assault and battery for allegedly pushing and attempting to punch a doctor at Palmetto Health Tuomey.

An incident report from Sumter Police Department states Graham visited the hospital with his girlfriend, who was told that results for an unspecified medical test were normal. The victim said he told the patient she could not throw things after she threw a cup of ice water at him.

Graham then stood up and pushed the doctor twice before attempting to punch him. The doctor said the patient then jumped on his back and began hitting him in the face multiple times.

Responding officers reported a cut on the doctor's nose and redness and bruising to his face and head. Graham was transported to Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center. The incident report did not mention possible charges for the patient, who is also a suspect, but a warrant has been issued for her arrest.
