Swampcats cruise past Camden Military

MANNING - Laurence Manning Academy improved to 12-5 on the season with a 78-52 victory over Camden Military on Tuesday at Bubba Davis Gymnasium.

Taylor Lee led the Swampcats with 23 points. Grayson Dennis added 17, while Braydon Osteen had 11 and Jerrel Kelly 10.

On Monday in Manning, LMA defeated Pinewood Prep 71-60. Lee had 22 points and seven assists. Kelly had a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds to go with five assists and four blocked shots.

Jake Jordan added 12 points, while Chase Lee and Brewer Brunson both had eight and Dennis seven.

Hartsville 67

Lakewood 65

HARTSVILLE – Lakewood High School suffered its first loss in Region VI-4A, falling to Hartsville 67-65 on Tuesday at the HHS gymnasium.

Juwan Perdue had 20 points to lead the Gators, who fell to 12-9 overall and 3-1 in region play. Terrell Houston added 18 and Grant Singleton 14.

Lakewood will play host to Darlington on Friday with first place in the region on the line.

Lee Central 56

Chesterfield 40

CHESTERFIELD – Lee Central improved to 7-0 in Region IV-2A with a 56-40 victory over Chesterfield on Tuesday at the CHS gymnasium.

Amadric Mixon led the 15-3 Stallions with 13 points. DaVeon Thomas and Treson Pringle each added nine points and Daequan Thomas added seven.

Northwood 67

Wilson Hall 61

Wilson Hall lost to Northwood Academy 67-61 in double overtime on Monday at Nash Student Center.

Chandler Scott led the Barons with 29 points. Grey Holler and Landon VanPatten each finished with seven points.

Desmond Johnson led Northwood with 25, while Collin Briscoe had 14 and Tyler Berry 11.

DALZELL - Wilson Hall improved to 9-6 with a 40-20 victory over Thomas Sumter Academy on Tuesday at Edens Gymnasium.

Miller Jones, Wise Segars and Heath Watson each scored eight points to lead the Barons.

On Monday in Sumter, Wilson Hall topped Northwood 36-22. Nathan Harris led the Barons with 13 points.

MANNING - Laurence Manning had three players score in double figures as it defeated Pinewood Prep 41-27 on Monday at Bubba Davis Gymnasium.

Gabe Harris and Denzell Sigler both had 11 points to lead 6-3 LMA. Austin Deppa had 10 and AJ Nelson five.

KINGSTREE - Tariq Coard scored 13 points to lead Scott's Branch Middle School to a 40-37 victory over D.P. Cooper on Monday at the DPC gymnasium.

Tyler Kind added nine points for the Eagles.

COLUMBIA - Sumter High School improved to 8-0 with a 53-40 victory over Eau Claire on Monday at the Rock Pit.

Deshawn McKnight led the Gamecocks with 13 points, Tre Brunson added 10 and Devin Boston had five.

Thomas Sumter 47

The King's Academy 31

DALZELL - Thomas Sumter Academy defeated The King's Academy 47-31 on Friday at Edens Gymnasium to improve to 4-1.

Landon DeLavan led TSA with 12 points and seven steals. Louis Wright had six points and nine rebounds, Sammy Kessinger had five points and seven assists and Brandon Burns had seven points.

COLUMBIA - Brandon King scored 20 points to lead Laurence Manning Academy to a 48-38 overtime victory over Heathwood Hall on Monday at the HH gymnasium.

Coleman Yates added 11 points for the 5-1 Swampcats. Bryce Acord added eight.
