Here is the latest on winter weather and closings in Sumter, Clarendon and Lee counties.

6:30 p.m.

Lee County School District will operate on a two-hour delay for students and staff on Thursday, Jan. 18.

4:53 p.m.

All Central Carolina Technical College campuses will operate on a two-hour delay Thursday. CCTC employees report at 9:30 a.m.

Classes will start at 9:55 a.m. for students. Any class scheduled before 9:55 a.m. is cancelled.

4:51 p.m.

All Clarendon School District 2 schools will be open on Thursday. Faculty and staff will report on a one-hour delay. Students will report on a two-hour delay.

1:30 p.m.

The varsity and junior varsity basketball games between South Florence and Sumter high schools scheduled for today have been postponed due to the threat of winter weather.

The varsity and junior varsity boys games were scheduled to be played in Sumter, while the girls games were set to be played in Florence. The games have been rescheduled for Thursday at the same sites with the JV games set to begin at 6 p.m.

Crestwood’s junior varsity home games against Hartsville set for today have been postponed. Also, the middle school games between Hillcrest and Mayewood scheduled for today have been postponed as well.

12:29 p.m.

Currently, all weather and road conditions are favorable to continue with a regular dismissal today for Sumter School District, though all afterschool activities for students and staff are canceled.

Due to freezing temperatures overnight and the potential for icy road conditions, Sumter School District will open on a two-hour delay for students and staff on Thursday, Jan. 18. Breakfast will not be served.

Schools will open two hours later than their normal start times. Students who ride a school bus should report to their bus stops two hours later than usual.

11:16 a.m.

All Clarendon School District 2 schools will dismiss early today.

Manning Early Childhood Center: 1:30 p.m.

Manning Primary School: 1:40 p.m.

Manning Elementary School: 1:50 p.m.

Manning Junior High School: 2 p.m.

Manning High School: 2:10 p.m.

9:45 a.m.

Several SAFE Federal Credit Union branches will be closed today: all branches in Richland, Lexington and Kershaw counties.

Those branches are Sandhill Station, Eastover and Garnes Ferry in Richland; Lexington, St. Andrews and West Columbia in Lexington; and Camden and Lugoff in Kershaw.

The Bishopville branch will close at noon.

Members can still conduct transactions online, said Kristine Tanzillo.

5 a.m., Jan. 17

A winter weather advisory is in effect in Sumter County until 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, according to the National Weather Service.

Rain mixing with or changing to snow is expected, with some snow accumulation possible.

Be prepared for reduced visibility at times, the agency said.
