Timmonsville man, named Sumter, arrested in Sumter County for theft

Sumter County Sheriff's Office arrested a 37-year-old man on Monday for allegedly possessing bolt cutters that were used in the theft of a utility trailer.

Jeremy Jerome Sumter, of Oliver Road in Timmonsville, is charged with possession of crime implements and grand larceny after a pair of bolt cutters, allegedly used during the theft of an $8,000 utility trailer were found in his possession while he was in the 960 block of Oswego Highway in Sumter County on Sunday.

The bolt cutters were found about 10 feet from where Sumter was detained, states a release from the sheriff's office.
