CHRIS M. MOORE, PALMETTO HEALTH TUOMEY / SPECIAL TO THE SUMTER ITEM

Last Friday, The Tuomey Foundation held its annual Tuomey Fellows graduation at Neverdun Farms. Since 2001, the Tuomey Fellows program has given business and volunteer leaders from the community a behind-the-scenes look at what goes on at our hospital and in health care in general. Participants attend health care-oriented class sessions, focusing on everything from surgical services and cardiac procedures to administration of a community nonprofit hospital. In addition, they tour the hospital and observe its intricate workings, from surgeries to the emergency room. By the time they graduate, they are knowledgeable in the daily operations of Palmetto Health Tuomey and are ambassadors for their community's hospital. From left: top row, Palmetto Health Tuomey's Les Thompson along with Chuck Wilson, Tim Garrity, Cobern Epting, Jake Cline, Charlie Fletcher, Jim Shrift, Brian Rauschenbach and The Tuomey Foundation's Jeff Faw; and bottom row, Missy Corrigan, Rebecca Monroe-Hardy, Nancy Branham and Larsen Cline. Thompson and Faw are not graduates.
