Sumter Police Department officials are asking the public for help in identifying two men who were seen on video surveillance before allegedly stealing a white 6-by-10-foot cargo trailer and other items from Boykin Heating and Air at 845 S. Guignard Drive south of downtown Sumter near Bates Middle School.

The suspects are thought to have cut through a fence to enter the property after 4 a.m. Saturday and cut a gate padlock before leaving the property with the cargo trailer, which was loaded with equipment including a compressor and generator, according to a news release from the department. A description of the vehicle was not immediately available.

Anyone who can identify the suspects or who saw anything unusual near the business the morning of the break-in is asked to contact Sumter Police Department at (803) 436-2700.

Also, police are asking to be contacted if you are approached by someone trying to sell a trailer fitting the description.
